CANDLE CARE INSTRUCTIONS
W hen lighting a soy candle for the first time, allow the wax to melt all the way to the sides of the container. Depending on the container size, this should take around 1-3 hours.
Never light your candle for more than 4 hours.
Failure to do this will often cause "tunnelling" which will limit the life of your new soy candle.
Always allow your candle to cool & harden before relighting.
Soy wax does not burn as hot as paraffin wax, so soy wax candles require a thicker wick, which does not burn 100% and needs to be trimmed regularly.
Aim to trim your wick to about 3-4mm before you re-light your candle & remove any debris. This will ensure that your candle will last that bit longer.
Please remember that my candles are hand poured, not massed produced- and although every effort is made to ensure consistency, every candle will be a little different.
When using completely natural soy wax, sometimes you may notice darker patches or "wet" spots in your container candles. This is not a fault, simply a small blemish where the wax has not adhered to the glass 100%. The top of your candle may also appear slightly uneven, this is also a sign of natural soy wax being hand poured.
Never leave a lighted candle unattended.
Ensure candles are placed away from drafts, children, pets & flammable materials.
Always place your candles on a heat-resistant base & on a level, stable surface.
Never allow the flame to touch the glass - Always ensure that the wick is centered.
The glass container will become hot when in use, allow the wax to cool completely before handling the jar or tin.
When you've finished burning your candle you can wash away any residue wax with warm soapy water, remove the wick from the bottom of the container & it'll be as good as new and ready to re-use.
CANDLE CARE FOR CANDLES TOPPED WITH HERBS, BOTANICALS & CRYSTALS
Before lighting your candle please either remove all toppings from the top of your candle or else when the candle is lit please make sure that all toppings are kept away from the lighted wick.
Toppings will float in the melted wax so please be mindful of this and so not leave your candle unattended.
RITUAL/MEDITATION/INTENTION CANDLES
Some of these candles are topped with Californian white sage and healing crystals.
These toppings must be removed straight away and used serperately. The white sage can be burned first to cleanse your spaced area before lighting your candle. The crystal pieces can be held in your hand to set your intention or meditate when you light your candle.
COCONUT BOWL CANDLES
Candles that are in coconut bowls are not flat and will balance at an angle. Place the candle on a flat heat resistent surface and watch the flow of wax so it does not spill over.
Please do not burn your candle to the very end. Leave at least 5mm of wax in the end to prevent the candle burning through the coconut shell/
All jars, tins, coconut bowls, moroccan bowls can be washed and cleaned out when finished and reused.
